6 Days, 5 Nights
Interstate Dive Trip
Stony Pt, South Australia (Whyalla)
Robe, South Australia
Mount Gambier, South Australia
Minimum Certification Level: Snorkeller and above
The giant cuttlefish migration is one of the world’s largest known migrations and it happens right here in Australia. It is accessible by snorkelers, free divers and scuba divers alike.
PLUS! Dive with Leafy Seadragons at Robe and the crystal clear freshwaters of Mt Gambier.
Each year, as the water temperatures decrease with the winter season the Giant Cuttlefish migrate in their hundreds of thousands to the Spencer Gulf in South Australia to find a mate. With dynamic colour and pattern displays, and at times some cross dressing, males jostle for a chance to win over a female. Males dwarf the females with some males known to grow in total length of over a meter and with the majority of all activity occurring between 2 - 5m of water, a 1m long cuttlefish is quiet the experience.
Our EXCLUSIVE safari will take you on a road trip of a lifetime and will provide you with many a memory to savour. Numbers are limited to ensure guests have the best experience possible. Whyalla is a fair drive so we’ll be breaking it up with some epic diving. On the way we’ll search for the Leafy Seadragons at Robe, and the return trip will have you experience the crystal clear freshwater visibility of Mt Gambier in the famous Ewens Ponds and Kilsby Sinkhole. All with the superior convenience and support of our Mobile HQ making adventure diving so much easier.
